With regards to hotmail,
quite simply, Passport gets confused on its way to hotmail and redirects you
to WebTV.
Now should this happen,

1 of 4 Things will happen to you:

• You may get Stuck at a blank grey encrypted page (See Below)

• You will arrive at a brown screen. (See Below)

• You will arrive at a blue screen. (See Below)

• You may not be able to Signup for a New Hotmail Account (See Below)

IF You have Added your Hotmail.com user to your MSNTV Account as a user Click here

Solutions and Workarounds:

If you get Stuck at a Grey Screen Or Get an Error Message,

You need to find a button, like at www.msn.com

Then you can again to get you Back on Track. Proceed from below:
 

If you arrive at a Brown screen:
You will be at a brown screen which reads
"Getting started"

there are 2 buttons at the bottom of the page, do not click on them.

Above them is a Link "Click here to sign in with an Existing Passport"
Click it and it takes you to a blue screen, "Sign in to access your Passport account"

On the blue screen , put in your full hotmail address
(eg. Gary@hotmail.com)
and your hotmail password.

This will take you to the hotmail inbox.
 

If you arrive at a Blue screen:
On the blue screen (see above), put in your full hotmail address
(eg. Gary@hotmail.com)
and your hotmail password.

This will take you to the hotmail inbox.

If you want a New Hotmail Account:

you cannot use your MSNTV receiver to sign up for a hotmail account at this time

IF You have Added your Hotmail.com user to your MSNTV Account

3 Easy Steps to Hotmail.com

1. Switch users  to your hotmail.com user

2. GO To www.hotmail.com

3. You will get the Blue Screen

On the blue screen , put in your full hotmail address
(eg. Gary@hotmail.com)
and your hotmail password.

This will take you to the hotmail inbox.
